§ 6-5-40. Investigation; approval.

  • No license shall be issued by the Town Administrator/Clerk until the application for a license shall have been approved by the Board of Trustees upon recommendation of the Town Administrator/Clerk. No license shall be approved unless the Board of Trustees, after investigation, shall have found that the applicant possesses financial responsibility, character and general fitness so as to command the confidence of the public and to warrant belief that the business will be operated lawfully, honestly, fairly and efficiently for the purpose of this Article. Within forty-five (45) days of receipt of an application to renew a license issued hereunder, the Town Administrator/Clerk shall renew such license, provided that the designated law enforcement official, after investigation, has determined that the applicant has operated the business in such a manner as to fully effectuate the purposes of this Section. Licenses shall be limited to use at the premises specified in the application. Such license shall not be transferable. (Prior code 6.06.04)
