§ 8-4-10. Definitions.

  • The following definitions shall apply in the interpretation and enforcement of this Article:

    Parked. A parked semi-vehicle means a semi-vehicle parked within the Town, but does not include a vehicle parked in traffic.

    Semi-truck means and as includes:

    a.

    A semi-tractor with three (3) axles and a total configuration of ten (10) wheels, two (2) wheels on the front axle and four (4) wheels each on the rear drive axles (or configured with what are commonly known as "super tires" on the rear axles); designed to transport a semitrailer.

    b.

    A road tractor as defined by Section 42-1-102(84), C.R.S., and to the extent that such road tractor was originally designed or is currently configured to draw semi-trailers.

    c.

    A truck tractor as defined by Section 42-1-102(109) and (109.5), C.R.S.

    d.

    A concrete mixer or pumper truck.

    e.

    A semi-truck shall not include a truck which, without a semi-trailer, is configured to independently be operated as a dump truck, trash truck, bus or tow truck.

    Semi-trailer means and includes:

    a.

    A cargo trailer designed to be equipped with eight (8) wheels with two (2) tandem axles at the rear, each of which rear axle has dual wheels or is configured with what are commonly known as "super tires," and which trailer has a length of forty (40) feet or more.

    b.

    A trailer with a length of twenty-eight and one-half feet (28.5) or more, designed to be towed behind a semi-truck and semi-trailer, sometimes known as a "pup."

    c.

    A semi-trailer as defined by Section 42-1-102(89), C.R.S.

    Semi-vehicle means a semi-truck or a semi-tractor.

    Unattended. A semi-truck shall be deemed unattended if the operator of the vehicle is not present within two hundred (200) feet of the semi-truck. (Ord. 11-2007 §1)
