§ 2-7-20. Membership.

  • (a)

    The Community Activities Commission shall consist of five to seven members appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees. One (1) or more members of the Board of Trustees may be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees to serve as representatives to the CAC. Members must be eighteen (18) years of age and must meet at least one (1) of the following criteria:

    (1)

    Residency within a seven-mile radius of the Town; or

    (2)

    Ownership of a business which operates in the Town and holds a valid business license issued by the Town; or

    (3)

    Employment within the Town by a business holding a valid business license issued by the Town; or

    (4)

    Employment by or enrollment in a school operated by the Poudre School District and situated within the boundaries of the Town.

    (b)

    Members of the CAC shall serve a three-year term, and such terms shall be staggered as established by resolution by the Board of Trustees. The terms of any representative(s) of the Board of Trustees shall be conterminous with that member's term on the Board of Trustees. In the event of a vacancy on the CAC Board, the Mayor, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, shall appoint a successor member for the balance of the vacant CAC Board member's term. In the event of a Town Board of Trustee representative vacancy, a new Trustee representative may be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Board of Trustees.

    (c)

    CAC Board members may be removed by the Board of Trustees for neglect of duty or malfeasance.

    (d)

    CAC Board members who wish to resign from the CAC must provide written notification of his or her resignation to the Commission, which shall be forwarded to the Board of Trustees.

    (e)

    The CAC Board encourages and may solicit volunteers as necessary. The CAC Board may decline service by any volunteer for good cause. Volunteer members need not be residents of the Town.

    (f)

    CAC volunteers may participate in all discussions before the CAC Board and serve on committees as appointed by the CAC Board, but shall not have a vote on motions before the CAC Board.

    (g)
